That’s not necessarily true. It’s possible he only did it for votes but at the same time he could have just evolved in his opinions. My mom and dad are christian and they were homophoes for most of my life, but as they got older and met more people and made gay friends and met more gay couples they grew as people and now not only are they not homophobes but they love and accept me for who I am and they accept all of my relationships too. So yeah maybe it was for the votes but maybe it wasn’t he’s the president of the United States, I want there to be equal marriage as much as the next person, but I also understand that as president there are more important and less controversial things to worry about too.
I guess i’m just trying to say don’t jump to the first conflusion you can think of without giving it a fair thought.
I absolutly agreed with all of you, and yes it might make him get elected again, but the true question is, “Once he gets approved of being president for another four years, will he still fight to get the law passed to unban gay marriage?”, and it’s really true, like one of you said. He’s been in the white house for four years now! Why did he decide to bring this up now? Right when the election is coming out. So yeah, I’ll just sit back and see how things are gonna go.
I agree that same gender marrige should be free. But why does he start talking about it now? In his fourth ,or should I say fifth, year as President. Isn’t that a little to slow? He should’ve started talking about that on his first year, not now. Not that I’m saying I’m one of them. But my friend is.
And now that he’s reelected wheres the love? He’s off somewhere in Hawaii! I want a president to say he is for gay marriage actually make some decent time to do something about it. Not to mention all the dumb rules that have been passed about religion under his leadership.
I think he’s just doing that to get votes, if he really cared he would put that on his priority list to say that he supported it years ago!
I can see your point. If he was really for it he would have said it in his first election!:(
